about the anthology

monstera is an anthology of works in forms including fictional prose, poetry, and travel-writing. listed as “an assortment of creativity from third year students,” it contains work in a variety of styles and genres.

hazyn’s contribution to this anthology was an extract from their erasure piece, “sealed.” this was their first dip into experimental poetry.

below is the description hazyn gave of their piece during the anthology’s launch event in may 2022:

“the words behind this piece came from stories i wrote over my teenage years, which i have ‘sealed’ the majority of to create this poetry experiment.

this piece is designed to be read in several ways, with the choices of the reader impacting the order of words; […] uncovering the mystery and your own interpretation is all part of the experience.”

note: this anthology is no longer in print, but promotional material and links remain available for reference.
